10th Avenue Singers, the show choir at Belmond-Klemme, is an extracurricular group that combines singing, dancing, instrumentals, costumes and showmanship. Show choir is open to any choir student in grades 9-12. Members of show choir learn a set of about five songs each year revolving around a story or theme. They learn the notes to the songs as well as choreography to each piece. The music performed is typically more modern in style (pop, rock, etc). The group is accompanied by a live band also made up primarily of students. The 10th Avenue Singers, the show choir at Belmond-Klemme, has been around for many decades. It was originally called New Group, but the name was changed a few years ago.
