ONCE A WEEK, TAKE A PEEK!
Dear Parent/Guardian:
Winter is quickly approaching and with that I tend to find more cases of head lice (pediculosis). I wanted to send this letter to be proactive to stop the spread.
Although these insects cannot hop, jump or fly, they are easily transmitted from one child to another by head-to-head contact or sharing of hats, combs, brushes, etc. We are making every effort to stop the spread of lice and ask that you also keep alert for any signs in your child. Head lice are tiny, 1/8 inch flat insects, which move quickly and shy away from the light. Therefore, detection is often made on the basis of finding nits (lice eggs), which are yellowish-white and oval-shaped and adhere to the hair shaft at an angle. They do not flick off easily unlike dandruff or lint.
Would you help us by examining your child frequently this winter? If you do find lice, please don’t panic! There are safe, nontoxic, effective measures you can take. El invierno se acerca rápidamente y con eso tiendo a encontrar más casos de piojos (pediculosis). Quería enviar esta carta para ser proactivo y detener la propagación.
Aunque estos insectos no pueden brincar, brincar o volar, se transmiten fácilmente de un niño a otro por contacto de cabeza a cabeza o por compartir sombreros, peines, cepillos, etc. Estamos haciendo todo lo posible para detener la propagación de piojos y pedir que también esté alerta a cualquier señal en su hijo. Los piojos de la cabeza son pequeños insectos planos de 1/8 de pulgada, que se mueven rápidamente y se alejan de la luz. Por lo tanto, la detección a menudo se realiza sobre la base de encontrar liendres (huevos de piojos), que son de color blanco amarillento y de forma ovalada y se adhieren al tallo del cabello en ángulo. No se quitan fácilmente a diferencia de la caspa o la pelusa.
¿Nos ayudaría examinando a su hijo con frecuencia este invierno? Si encuentra piojos, ¡no entre en pánico! Existen medidas seguras, no tóxicas y efectivas que puede tomar.
