The Belmond Klemme Board of Education is dedicated to the success of all students. In order to work together in the best interest of the stakeholder's of the district, the Board often has educational opportunities, meetings and retreats that allow the to become more knowledgeable as to how to meet the needs of all students in the Belmond Klemme District.

Belmond -Klemme's Board of Education Members recently took part in a retreat held locally at Jacobson Elementary School. Lou Ann Gvist, Board Development Director from the Iowa Association of School Boards led the retreat along with Interim Superintendent Chris Bergman.

Why is it important for board members to gather, learn and be able to discuss topics related to our school district?

  • Establish Goals

  • Assess Board Culture

  • Viability Assessment and Strategic Plan

  • Establish a knowledge base of their role in our district

It is very important that our board comes together to meet outside of regular board meetings to check in to their foundation of service to our district, students and staff and make sure they are keyed in with the present and future!

At the end of the meeting, with additional knowledge, goals and a renewed sense of purpose, our board ended the meeting with a colleagueship and engagement which is excellent for our district.
