Welcome! I began teaching at BK in November, 2010 and am also the saxophone/clarinet Instructor at NIACC. I received my BM in Education and Saxophone Performance from The University of Northern Iowa, MM in Performance from The University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music and completed two years towards my Doctorate also at UMKC. I have taught at Graceland University (Lamoni, IA), Sul Ross State University (Alpine, TX) and Snyder JH/HS in Texas. I also directed a local community band in Alpine and numerous All-Region Bands. In 2000, I was a finalist for the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition as part of a UMKC saxophone quartet.  While a graduate teaching assistant at UMKC I performed with the Midland Saxophone Quartet in Kansas City, Heartland of America Air Force Band at Offut Airbase in Omaha, as well as numerous other groups. I currently serve on the District Advisory Group for the North Central Iowa region of the Iowa High School Music Association and the Iowa Bandmaster’s Association Concert Band Affairs Committee. I also judge at JH Solo contests including Ventura, West Hancock and Mason City, maintain a saxophone studio of jh/hs students from across north central Iowa and currently, or have, perform with the NIACC Concert Band, Mason City Municipal Band, Clear Lake Municipal Band and North Iowa Jazz Coalition Big Band, Karl King Band as well as HS musicals at BK, GHV, Clear Lake and West Hancock. This past October I performed in The Music Man in Mason City as they kicked off their national tour, featuring Shirley Jones.
